Men’s fashion lacks coverage and promotion. So it’s a great achievement to become an upcoming men’s designer.
Felix Chabluk Smith is definitely a designer to keep an eye on. The first Menswear student to graduate from Edinburgh College of Art in fifteen years, he won the Menswear Award at Graduate Fashion Week 2011 before enrolling on the MA Fashion Menswear course at the Royal College of Art.
Whilst still a student at the RCA he exhibited in Edinburgh, Glasgow and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Shortly after graduating he was an award winner at ITS 2013 and pieces from his MA graduate collection will soon form part of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.
“Inexorably drawn to the subtleties of menswear, I am ever inspired by the codes, history and purpose of male dress and fascinated by the semiotics of cut and cloth.”
Having already achieved so much in an under promoted fashion area, Felix is one to watch out for.
